Doñana National Park is Spain´s most important biological reserve and the protected area of greatest extension, as well as being one of the most important reserves in Europe. The Park is a vital stop-over for birds migrating between Africa and Europe, assuring the survival of numerous protected species. However, the Park is not only home to birds: a number of other species are found including the Imperial Eagle, Iberian Lynx, as well as fish, amphibians, reptiles and mammals, all sharing a habitat of unequalled beauty. The Odiel Marshlands

The marshes are tide-based, with water level rising and falling with the level of tides, and provide a home for more than 200 species of birds. It is divided between two large areas: las Reservas del Burro and la Isla de Enmedio. The visit can be made in large rowing boats or small launches and makes for an unforgettable experience.

El Rocío

A small village 15 km from Matalascañas beach. On the edge of the "marismas" (saltmarshes) and sorrounded by simple houses, stands the majestic, white-walled ermita de la Virgen del Rocío. The main reason for the hermitage and village is the celebration of the Romería del Rocío. A million pilgrims from all over Spain gather here, many on horseback wearing traditional costume associated with the pilgrimage, accompanying the ox-drawn carts of their parochial brotherhoods. The Pilgrimage makes for an unforgettable occasion full of high spirits and religious devotion.
